

Our dog of the week is “Whiskers.” “Whiskers” is a two-year old male Airdale-Hound mix, red in color. He is extremely friendly, gentle and usually “grins” at his friends.

Our cat of the week is “Creamsicle.” “Creamsicle” is a one year old female orange tabby cat. She is affectionate and sweet.
Whiskers and Creamsicle are now at the Wayne County Animal Shelter and are looking for good homes along with many other wonderful pets.
Here’s how you can adopt an animal from
the Wayne County Animal Shelter
Adoption Fees
For every animal (dog or cat) that is adopted from the Animal Control Facility, there is a set non-refundable fee to adopt the animal. The fee is set by the animal’s gender:
- Male -- $ 35.00 Fee
- Female -- $ 50.00 Fee
Refund
For every animal adopted that is spayed/neutered in accordance with county law, a refund is sent to the pet’s owner in the following amounts:
- Male -- $ 25.00 Refund
- Female -- $ 40.00 Refund

**All animals adopted from the Wayne County Animal Control Facility are required by law to receive a rabies vaccination and be spayed/neutered within a particular time frame in accordance with the pet’s age.
